Montero went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and an error in a win over the White Sox on Friday. He has one RBI and is slashing just .152/.176/.303 this spring. A veteran with a secure job does not need to have great March stats, but Montero's 12:1 K:BB ratio in 33 at-bats is a bit alarming. He should be the regular catcher all year, but with David Ross catching Jon Lester every fifth day and Welington Castillo still around, he may not get the at-bats of most of the top catchers.
