Wieters made his spring debut and went 0-for-3 as the designated hitter in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers. Wieters threw before the game, but he will not appear as the catcher for another couple of weeks. The throwing program seems to be going well, manager Buck Showalter told MASN Sports.
