Gee is slated to open the year as the Mets' sixth starter, meaning he will be used as a long-man out of the bullpen and spot starter, Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com reports.Gee is behind Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Zach Wheeler, Jon Niese and Bartolo Colon in the starter pecking order. Gee was on the block all winter but the Mets did not find a match for him. As of now, he is slated to break camp with the team, but could be dealt late in the spring.
