Hamilton will undergo surgery Wednesday to repair the AC joint in his right shoulder. Hamilton missed most of September with a right shoulder injury, and apparently his symptoms resurfaced during workouts this past week. Recovery has been estimated at 6-to-8 weeks, meaning his Opening Day availability is in doubt. Matt Joyce and Collin Cowgill seem like the top candidates for playing time in Hamilton's absence.
