Cobb agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract with the Rays on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Mark Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. An oblique injury cost Cobb more than a month early in the year, and he struggled to find his rhythm immediately upon his return (5.35 ERA in June), but the right-hander caught fire in the second half. In 14 starts after the All-Star break (spanning 90.1 innings), Cobb posted a 1.79 ERA, .218 BAA and 81:23 K:BB, solidifying his spot atop the Rays' rotation heading into 2015.
