Wieters (elbow) has begun a light throwing program after Dr. James Andrews gave him a green light in mid-November, MASN Sports reports. Wieters is targeting a return on Opening Day and that has been the plan after he had Tommy John surgery in June. Wieters enters his final year under team control in 2015 and he will certainly be motivated in a contract year.
