The Padres declined to tender Cabrera (hamstring) a contract, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. A Sept. 3 arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana may have influenced this decision, but Cabrera simply didn't perform last season (.232/.272/.300) and he once again battled hamstring issues, which limited him to 90 games. An All-Star in 2013, Cabrera still has ample speed and should have no problem latching on elsewhere on a major league deal, though a starting role may not be guaranteed.
