Ruggiano (ankle) was activated from the 60-day DL on Tuesday, Bruce Miles of the Daily Herald reports. An ankle injury forced Ruggiano out of action in mid-to-late August and ultimately ended his season, and he also battled hamstring and groin issues throughout the year, but the 32-year-old posted a respectable .281/.337/.429 batting line in his 81 games in 2014. That said, he'll likely have a hard time earning a starting role in spring training, as Chris Coghlan, Arismendy Alcantara and Jorge Soler looked pretty well locked in, but Ruggiano figures to break camp as the team's top reserve outfielder.
