The Pirates extended Martin a $15.3 million qualifying offer Monday, MLB.com reports. Martin will have one week to decide whether he'll accept the offer, which seems very unlikely. After a season in which he raised his batting average 64 points, he's established himself as the top catcher on the market and figures to fetch some lucrative offers as a free agent. Players can begin negotiating with other teams at midnight Monday.
