Hardy agreed to a three-year extension with the Orioles on Thursday, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports. The deal is believed to be worth close to $40 million, which is nearly double the amount Hardy earned over the course of his current three-year pact ($22 million). Although Hardy mustered just nine homers this season, after hitting 22 or more in each of his previous three seasons, but he plays Gold Glove caliber defense at a premium position and makes consistent contact. He went 3-for-10 with a homer and two RBI in the O's sweep of the Tigers in the ALDS.
