Beckett announced Tuesday that he will retire, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports. He was going to need a pretty serious hip surgery in order for him to take the mound again, and the 34-year-old evidently decided that he was satisfied with his legacy at this point. In addition to winning two World Series rings and making three All-Star teams, Beckett was able to pitch a no-hitter in 2014 for the Dodgers.
