Martin (hamstring) is in the lineup for Wednesday's Wild Card game against the Giants. Tightness in Martin's left hamstring resulted in his removal from last Wednesday's game, and when the hamstring presented issues again Friday, the Pirates decided to play it safe and hold him out of the final two regular season games. Martin said Tuesday that he felt "pretty good," but with Chris Stewart (wrist) also banged up, the Pirates have decided to carry a third catcher in Tony Sanchez. Manager Clint Hurdle is batting Martin cleanup Wednesday, a spot in the order in which he went just 3-for-31 (.097 average) during the regular season.
