Johnson (back) is out of the lineup Thursday against the Pirates. Johnson was hoping to play Thursday despite suffering a lower-back strain Wednesday night, but the Braves will take precaution and hold him out of the lineup for at least one game. Phil Gosselin takes over at third base.
