Wright recently underwent a dye contrast MRI, which revealed a ligament issue in his left shoulder, Newsday's Marc Carig reports. Prior MRI exams had revealed persistent inflammation in the rotator cuff in Wright left shoulder, but the more invasive test revealed the ligament issue. The damaged ligament is causing instability in his shoulder and may end up requiring surgery, though Wright reiterated that he hopes to avoid any sort of procedure with a strengthening rehab program. However, if that fails to resolve the issue, Wright and the Mets will need to explore other options.
