Sabathia (knee) played catch Monday for the first time since undergoing season-ending knee surgery in July, MLB.com reports. Sabathia made 20 throws from 60 feet, reporting afterward that he felt good. The next step will be for the lefty to throw off a mound, which he expects to be able to do in two to three weeks. The 34-year-old said he'll throw a bullpen session but after that he should be able to have a normal offseason program and plans to return for spring training.
