Rutledge went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks. Rutledge isn't quite slugging at the level he showcased during his impressive MLB debut in the second half of 2012, but it appears he's nonetheless reestablished himself as part of the Rockies' long-term plans. While Troy Tulowitzki (hip) is set to return to shortstop next spring, Rutledge, who is slashing .270/.317/.412 over 317 plate appearances, should be given every opportunity to beat out the light-hitting DJ LeMahieu at second base.
