Sale (12-3) dominated the A's over eight innings Thursday, striking out nine while allowing just two hits and two walks in a 1-0 victory. Sale and Scott Kazmir matched zeroes until Kazmir allowed a run in the sixth, and that was all that Chicago's ace would need. The spectacular outing pushed his ERA back under 2.00 for the first time since July 26; with a 1.99, he continues to lead the American League in that category and is tied with Felix Hernandez for the league's best WHIP, 0.92.
