It has been determined that surgery is indeed the best route, meaning Bailey's disappointing 2014 campaign is officially over. Although an exact timetable for his recovery has not been established, this could jeopardize Bailey's availability for the start of next season, but it makes sense from the Reds' perspective, as the 28-year-old still has five more years remaining on his contract.
