Castro was diagnosed Wednesday with a high-ankle sprain and is expected to miss the rest of the season, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Because the recovery process for Castro's injury typically requires a four-week timetable, the Cubs aren't counting on having their star shortstop back in the fold the rest of the way. While the team won't shut Castro down completely after he expressed a desire to attempt to return this season, fantasy owners in single-season leagues probably shouldn't hold their breath on a comeback at this point. With Castro out of the picture, Javier Baez is likely to slide over from second base to his more natural position at shortstop, while Logan Watkins figures to assume regular duties at the keystone.
