Lowrie (finger) is slated to take batting practice Thursday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Lowrie progressed to taking two-handed swings in the cages Wednesday, and will take what figures to be his final step before embarking on a rehab assignment Thursday with on-field batting practice. Still just a couple weeks removed from suffering a hairline fracture to his finger, Lowrie threw Tuesday and it reportedly went "fairly well." Barring a setback, he will likely return to the A's when rosters expand or shortly thereafter.
