Cobb (9-6) tossed seven shutout innings against the Tigers on Thursday, striking out six while allowing just two hits and two walks to come away with a 1-0 victory. The unreliable and injured Cobb from early in the season has recently been replaced by a dynamo who's been mowing down batters throughout July and August. He's tossed consecutive scoreless outings and has given up a grand total of just four runs in his last six starts combined, shaving his ERA from 4.08 to 3.19 in that span. He'll draw the first-place Orioles next week -- they're the last team to score more than two runs against him in a start, way back on June 29.
