What can I do with players after the draft?

There are four options for handling free agency during the preseason (end of the draft, until the end of Week 1):

Option 1: Put all free agents on waivers ("Claim")

  1. Enable game-start waivers. To do this, go to League >> Settings >> Edit Waiver Wire Rules and change the Use a Waiver Claim System setting to Yes.
  2. Go to League >> Settings >> Edit Transaction Rules and select Always-On Waivers under Free Agents During Preseason (After Draft).
  3. All free agents will now be claimable. Claims will be processed on your league's configured waiver day(s) set at League >> Settings >> Edit Waiver Wire Rules.

Option 2: Make all players first-come first-served ("Add")

  1. Disable game-start waivers. To do this, go to League >> Settings >> Edit Waiver Wire Rules and change the Use a Waiver Claim System to No.
  2. Go to League >> Settings >> Edit Transaction Rules and select Unlocked under Free Agents During Preseason (After Draft).
  3. All free agents will now be unlocked; no waivers will run until you turn the waiver system back on.

Option 3: Players on game-start waivers set to "Add", players on dropped waivers set to "Claim"

  1. Enable game-start waivers. To do this, go to League >> Settings >> Edit Waiver Wire Rules and change the Use a Waiver Claim System setting to Yes.
  2. Go to League >> Settings >> Edit Transaction Rules and select Unlocked under Free Agents During Preseason (After Draft).
  3. All free agents will now be unlocked; dropped players will be processed during the next waiver claim window.

Option 4: Lock all free agents (no adds or claims allowed)

  1. Disable game-start waivers. To do this, go to League >> Settings >> Edit Waiver Wire Rules and change the Use a Waiver Claim System to No.
  2. Go to League >> Settings >> Edit Transaction Rules and select Locked, no adds are allowed for Free Agents During Preseason (After Draft).
  3. All free agents will now be locked; no waivers will run. If you decide to unlock the player pool later in the preseason, go to League >> Settings >> Unlock Free Agents During Preseason and then adjust your transaction and waiver wire rules as desired.
